Choose wisely your gateway to media…

As everybody knows, media is called the fourth pillar of democracy and it is not just called it actually has proved has itself the way it affects the day to day human life and behavior. You know who can carry out the big changes, obviously a big team and the potential in the team.

Nowadays two very common myths about media are taking rounds, one is that there are fewer jobs in media and the second is that media pays lesser than other industries. However, both are just myths. A power industry that is so widely spread can never be short of job opportunities. The increasing competition has surely made it difficult to grab a good job but there is no limit for the talented candidates and the candidates who are lead to right path. It is true that of you have the talent you can achieve the sky but an effective guidance is equally important. A lot of private institutes are opening daily offering media courses however while deteriorating the educational status, they are just aimed to earn more and more profit. The pump and show of the institutes opened by the builders and other professionals having no media qualifications are merely providing degrees and no education. So in order to achieve success in media, students must choose their path wisely. Here is a guide what they should look for in a media institution before taking admission.

1.     Practical Training: You cannot learn about media through books only. Practical is the essential part of media education. It allows you to be prepared for the actual professional industry. There is actually a lot of difference between what is taught at educational institutions and what students actually face in the industry. Practical training involves visits to media houses, in-house printing and production activities, organizing debates and talk shows on current issues etc.

2.     Degree/Diploma: While practical training is most important part of media education, it is also necessary to get a degree/diploma from approved government university so you can further continue with your studies and research work if at any point of time you find yourself interested for that.

3.     Experienced faculty: Don’t hesitate to enquire about faculties. People having experience in the same field can impart you the best knowledge. A house builder cannot give you the correct insight of media houses.

As a matter of your future, you need to be more diligent while selecting your path.
