Public Relation in 21st Century


Public relations arrived with the development of mass media. At the turn of the 20th century, “Muckraking” journalists were stirring up public dissent against the powerful monopolies and wealthy industrial's who ruled the day.

A basic definition of public relations is to shape and maintain the image of a company, organization or individual in the eyes of the client's various "publics." What is a "public" exactly? A public, in PR terms, is anyone who ever has or ever will form an opinion about the client.

Today’s public relations professionals does much more then sit behind a desk faxing out press releases. Public Relations professionals help a business or individual cultivate a positive reputation with the public through various unpaid or earned communications, including traditional media, social media, and in-person engagements. More than ever, he’s the public face of the client. They also help clients defend their reputation during a crisis that threatens their credibility.

Public relations is a strategic communication process that builds mutually beneficial relationships between organizations and their publics




In 21st century Public Relations has  play the big role in Media, Everyone has to become a Good Public Relation Officer. Public Relations is part of Mass Communication, all the things under media are through PR.
