YOUR ACTIONS LEAD YOU

The most dreadful word that everyone comes across in their life is EXAMS and that is also something which is inescapable. Everyone has to take exams and excuses of traffic don’t work for it but do you know that you deal with exams in your daily life, quite often. It is an exam when you have to choose between a shirt of Rs. 500 and another one costing 1000 bucks. If you fail, you will bear the consequences immediately. If you buy shirt worth Rs. 500, it might be of low quality and if you buy Rs. 1000 shirt, you may encounter the same shirt of lesser amount in the next shop. Now, you may say that it is just the luck but it’s not. Our every next action is directly or indirectly connected to our previous action. If we go back and start connecting our actions we will definitely reach to our childhood, you can give it a try.
If you are sitting on a chair and reading this then definitely you have done something to reach to it. It is possible that you took an off from your classes today because you had an argument with your boyfriend in morning and you just log in to Face book to stalk your ex’s profile but you find this article. You read it and started linking your actions you took before your break up. Keep going on, you may find a full-stop to end the argument.

It’s really not difficult to pass the exams of life. Whenever you find yourself stuck, all you have to do is j ust go through your previous actions and you will find the solutions there only.

Why writing is important?

Writing is what we are, we always write what we are when we write on our free will. There may be times when we have to write within some boundaries but our ‘I’ gets into it somehow and somewhere. Why we are talking about writing and why is it important can be described in a few points laid down below:
  • Writing is the primary basis upon which your work, your learning, and your intellect will be judged—in college, in the workplace, and in the community.
  • Writing expresses who you are as a person.
  • Writing is portable and permanent. It makes your thinking visible.
  • Writing ideas down preserves them so that you can reflect upon them later.
  • Writing helps you move easily among facts, inferences, and opinions without getting confused—and without confusing your reader.
  • Writing promotes your ability to pose worthwhile questions.
  • Writing fosters your ability to explain a complex position to readers, and to yourself.
  • Writing helps others give you feedback.
  • Writing helps you refine your ideas when you give others feedback.
  • Writing requires that you anticipate your readers’ needs. Your ability to do so demonstrates your intellectual flexibility and maturity.
  • Writing out your ideas permits you to evaluate the adequacy of your argument.
  • Writing stimulates you to extend a line of thought beyond your first impressions or gut responses.
  • Writing helps you understand how truth is established in a given discipline.
  • Writing equips you with the communication and thinking skills you need to participate effectively in democracy.

Whenever you write, write for yourself first. If you do so, you will never do injustice to writing. You may find yourself writing for your organization but never forget that you have a free spirit as well and of course the free media, social media.

Choose wisely your gateway to media…

As everybody knows, media is called the fourth pillar of democracy and it is not just called it actually has proved has itself the way it affects the day to day human life and behavior. You know who can carry out the big changes, obviously a big team and the potential in the team.

Nowadays two very common myths about media are taking rounds, one is that there are fewer jobs in media and the second is that media pays lesser than other industries. However, both are just myths. A power industry that is so widely spread can never be short of job opportunities. The increasing competition has surely made it difficult to grab a good job but there is no limit for the talented candidates and the candidates who are lead to right path. It is true that of you have the talent you can achieve the sky but an effective guidance is equally important. A lot of private institutes are opening daily offering media courses however while deteriorating the educational status, they are just aimed to earn more and more profit. The pump and show of the institutes opened by the builders and other professionals having no media qualifications are merely providing degrees and no education. So in order to achieve success in media, students must choose their path wisely. Here is a guide what they should look for in a media institution before taking admission.

1.     Practical Training: You cannot learn about media through books only. Practical is the essential part of media education. It allows you to be prepared for the actual professional industry. There is actually a lot of difference between what is taught at educational institutions and what students actually face in the industry. Practical training involves visits to media houses, in-house printing and production activities, organizing debates and talk shows on current issues etc.

2.     Degree/Diploma: While practical training is most important part of media education, it is also necessary to get a degree/diploma from approved government university so you can further continue with your studies and research work if at any point of time you find yourself interested for that.

3.     Experienced faculty: Don’t hesitate to enquire about faculties. People having experience in the same field can impart you the best knowledge. A house builder cannot give you the correct insight of media houses.

As a matter of your future, you need to be more diligent while selecting your path.

Respect

To be one, to be united is a great thing. But to respect the right to be different is maybe even greater.”
Bono
What exactly is respect? It’s the sense of worth or personal value that you attach to someone. Respect is an overall evaluation you give someone based on many factors – what that person is doing with their life, how they treat you and others, whether they are honest or not and if they seem to consistently do good things, large or small, for other people. In short, respect is a positive view that you form of how someone is living their life. On the other hand, self-respect is your view of how you’re living your life.
In this two-part series, we will explore three areas of respect – self-respect, respect for others and other people’s respect for you. All three of these areas of respect are very important and if you fail to achieve any of these three, your own respect ultimately bears the consequences.
Keep this in mind: you owe everyone a basic level of respect for being a fellow human being, but your level of respect for others will vary from person to person. Just like your self-respect will grow as you master the ideals discussed above, your level of respect for others will vary depending upon your view of them and their own self-respect.
There’s nothing wrong with affording some people greater respect than others. You should be kind and polite to everyone – no question about that. But for obvious reasons, some of us simply deserve more respect than others. For example, I think we would all agree that a consistently honest person deserves more respect than a habitual liar. So, always be kind, polite and afford a basic level of respect for your fellow man, but you shouldn’t afford beyond basic respect to those who aren’t working on ideals you believe to be important.
Respect is one of mankind’s most noble sentiments. The highest levels of respect are always earned – never given. This is true of self-respect as well as respect for others. Before granting the highest level of self-respect or respect for others, make sure the person is worthy of the honor.

“Respect for ourselves guides our morals;
respect for others guides our manners.”

Companionship

This word explains and controls everyone’s life in so many ways directly or indirectly. Beat it or not but half of what we become in our life is affected by the kind of companionship we maintain in our life especially during our college days.  The age we start college is our developing age. We get rigorously affected by situations and people around us in this age and that makes the task of choosing a right kind of companionship, a big task.
However, there is a huge range of potential companions for us all from dogs to close friends, it is really important to find the companionship that works for you. For some, this will involve getting a pet, whilst some fall in love and others may be happy with friends and family.
Companionship is important to lead a sound life and finding it, is, of course, different for each individual. It is important to find the route that is best for you rather than simply following the lead of others. If you are in a wrong companionship, it may destroy your mental peace as well as affect physical health negatively because an unhealthy mind ultimately leads to an unhealthy body. Choose wisely when you choose your friends or your lover. Spend more time on making your companionship healthy rather than choosing a dress.

The PP rule: Practice Positivity

Whenever we have to take a decision or we are about to get the result of something, our mind is always anxious. It is always occupied with mixed thoughts. We wish to get the best favorable thing to us but there is always a negative doubt attached to it that actually causes big damages. It is true that the negativity flows more than positivity in the Universe and a single negative doubt is stronger than 10 positive thoughts.

I, once, read somewhere the benefits of thinking positive. I was impressed and decided to do so. However, it is always difficult to avoid conflicting thoughts, I started trying to lead my mind towards positive thoughts and shoo away all kind of negativity. Yes, I tried my best but at the end, what I got was disheartening. I always felt that what eventually happens is always opposite to what I lead my mind to think. I observed this trend for a period of time and I believed that I was absolutely correct. I always thought positive but always the opposite negative happened. Then, on one occasion I decided to think more of what I didn’t want to happen and believe me, what happened was actually what I wanted to happen.

I was sure that whatever results I will get will always be opposite to what I lead my mind to think but then only the process took a U-turn. Now, what started happening was exactly what I focused on and it was all unwanted. I was in trouble, why was this happening? I tried to figure out the reason behind this and after experimenting with my thoughts for few days, I realized that the practice of focusing on one single thought has finally helped me to remove all the thoughts except one. All the conflicting thoughts vanished and now the things were happening exactly the way I was thinking.
The moral of the story is, it is really difficult to focus purely on positivity but trust me, practice is the solution to everything.

Decision Making

Decision making is the most important part of our life as it is this capability that drew us to our destinies.
However, there is generally a chunk of time in everyone’s life that we waste in making wrong decisions. You are the luckiest person in this universe if you can’t recall any such moment about your life. Majority of us can.
But it won’t last forever if you are able to realize this before everything ends. Anyone can get that realization from anywhere. Maybe you will realize right after reading this piece. We have to realize someday that we have already wasted a lot of time and energy of our life debating back and forth, making decisions that we were neither sure was the right one, nor fully happy with.
That realization, however, can take you to another unpleasant situation and that is afraid of making decisions. You may become unsure of how to know whether it’s a right decision and you may find yourself in, ‘right versus wrong’ situation.
But let me tell you it’s not difficult to keep it on track and leave behind the regrets. What we have to do is just to learn to listen to our own intuition, feel the signals of our heart that guides us towards the right decisions.
Never let your thoughts get paralyzed by worries, doubts, fears or anxieties etc. Be confident what your body feels than in what your mind says.
The more you practice decision-making in this way, the more you develop an incredible sense of freedom, an ability to move in this world in a way that is true to yourself and to your life purpose. It helps to cultivate the “courageous self-acceptance” and the “fearless heart” described in Buddhist teachings.
Letting go of fear will open you up to growth.
