Keys to become an excellent Orator

“Speech has power. Words do not fade. What starts as a sound, ends in a deed”.
-          Abraham Joshua

Speaking is an art. It is a well known fact that a person who has the capability to speak well can win the world. But if you don’t know how to express yourself then you might even lose what’s yours. You know how politicians win elections with the power of words. Yes, just fake and hateful speeches. Isn’t that interesting how well we know their tact to trap voters and  still fall for it? Yes, that’s the Art I’m talking about.

Now, be it in the field of Mass Media or anywhere else. One should have proper command on the languages he/she speaks in order to make an impact on others. With words you can impress or depress. From learning the basics to building your vocabulary stronger, you need teachers and training which you'd find at IAAN School of Mass Communication at New Friends Colony, New Delhi. It is one of the Best Media colleges in Delhi.

Now, coming back to the keys,we have:
1.      Get your facts right
You should know what you are saying and should have complete knowledge about the topic you’re gonna discuss. Otherwise you might encounter“Can you hear yourself” situation in no time. Getting facts right adds much to your GK and others’ too.

2.      Be a good listener
Be keen at grasping what knowledge others give you while discussing topics ( be it important or unimportant). To be a good Orator you first need to be a good listener. Be patient and let others finish their points before you start bombarding yours. There’s a whole lot of difference between a Debate and an Argument.

3.      Good Vocabulary
Add good yet understandable words to your vocabulary. Your speech should be easy to understand and should be able to grab attention of the listeners. Don’t make your vocabulary too exclusive, the language shouldn’t be alien to majority.

4.      Accent
Now accent is something which makes people judge how fake or real your are. So yes, be who you are, don’t try to act ‘too British or too Sanskrit’ because it would have you end up making a complete fool out of yourself.

5.      Learn from the existing Leaders
In this world full of Manmohan Singhs, be a Shashi Tharoor. Well, jokes apart. You learn from your parents, teachers and role models. Likewise, you should learn the art of speaking from our National Leaders too.  Adopting their style of speaking and making an impact can lead to a million possibilities. I don’t call it copying, it’s a part of the learning process.

With these keys you can achieve what ever you want. Remember, no action is stronger than words.

Happy Learning!
